Upon his arrival in Ghana, Shatta Wale wasted no time in addressing the skeptics who had predicted his arrest, drawing a parallel to what happened to Hajia4Real.
Hajia4Real, also known as Mona Faiz Montrage, was arrested in the United Kingdom on November 10, 2022, and subsequently extradited on May 12, 2023. She was involved in a scam where victims of romance fraud were deceived into sending money.
The scam involved various false pretences, such as transporting gold to the United States, resolving a fake FBI investigation, and assisting a fake US Army officer in receiving funds from Afghanistan.
In one particular case, Montrage used her real name and even provided a tribal marriage certificate to a victim, falsely claiming that they were married in Ghana. The victim ended up sending approximately $89,000 through 82 wire transfers, believing it was for expenses related to Montrage’s father’s farm in Ghana.
Base on Shatta Wale’s close association with Montrage, many speculated that he could be her accomplice and face arrest if he ever set foot in the UK for a performance, similar to what happened to Montrage.
However, contrary to these predictions, nothing of that sort occurred when Wale supported Medikal’s successful 02 Indigo concert in London and headlined the Legends Night event alongside Daddy Lumba in the same city.
Upon his return to Ghana, Shatta Wale took the opportunity to respond to his critics. In a post sighted by Tru News Report, Wale said;
The feeling when I enter Ghana 🇬🇭 😂💪 Oh shatta wale will be arrested in the Uk..Foolish ppl 😂💪
