Following a surge of discussions comparing Shatta Wale and Daddy Lumba, the SM boss took to social media to urge fans to cease the unnecessary debate.
Recently, a conversation has emerged regarding who has produced more hit songs, pitting Daddy Lumba against Shatta Wale. Lumba, a veteran Highlife artist, is often regarded as Ghana’s greatest musician.
Conversely, Shatta Wale is celebrated as Africa’s most decorated Dancehall artist, boasting numerous hit tracks and one of the continent’s largest fanbases.
Despite the contrasting genres and generational differences, Shatta Wale has stepped forward to address the comparisons with a power
He humbly acknowledged that Lumba is a trailblazer and an icon, indicating to his peers that he does not measure up to the Highlife legend.
Consequently, he finds such comparisons inappropriate, as they place him in competition with other music legends who may perceive him as revelling in the glory of this narrative.
In a post on X, Shatta Wale expressed his displeasure: “It is very disrespectful to compare me to the legend Daddy Lumba. Everyone should stop that because the man in question paved way for your favs and myself,” he wrote on X
“This is what my opponents do to just tarnish my image in public …They want to compare me to Lumba so that the oldies will hate me and say I don’t respect,” he stated.
Shatta Wale continued, “Why don’t you compare me to your so-called decorated Sarkodie and Stonebwoy? You know it would be a disgrace for them, so you chose this path to create more haters for me right?. Time will tell. Man will learn. God is watching you all.”
