In a moment with reporters upon his return to Ghana from Jamaica, where he had the honour of being the only African performer at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street concert, Shatta Wale spoke out to address recent rumours surrounding his relationship with Blakk Cedi, Stonebwoy’s former manager.
With a relaxed demeanour, Shatta made it clear that there was no bad blood between him and Blakk Cedi.
“Blakk Cedi’s contribution to my performance is like every media house coming here to interview me. I don’t have any problem with anybody.
Blakk Cedi is Stonebwoy’s former manager, and I don’t have any problem with him or Stonebwoy,” Shatta stated firmly.

The controversial topic at hand was the ongoing speculation about Shatta Wale’s alleged inability to work with anyone, a narrative that has been painted by critics over the years. But the dancehall artist wasn’t having it.
“The painting of Shatta Wale not being able to work with anybody is getting too much because I am making too much money that I can’t think about hating again,” he said, emphasizing that his focus is on making moves and growing his brand.
Shatta Wale also took the opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding about Blakk Cedi’s role in his camp.
Despite some reports claiming that Cedi was managing him, Shatta made it clear that Sammy Flex remains his manager.
“He has done well, and nobody should tag him that he (Blakk Cedi) is managing Shatta Wale because Sammy Flex is still my manager,” he confirmed.
