Mrs Tracy Owusu, the wife of Sarkodie, has stressed the importance of not being swayed by the fake lifestyles portrayed by celebrities and other people on social media.
Drawing from her own experiences while living in Germany and connecting them to this entertainment news, she highlighted the significance of focusing on personal growth and development.
Mrs Owusu delivered this message during the Cox It Out event in Accra, urging people to concentrate on their aspirations rather than being influenced by fleeting moments of luxury showcased online.
Also known as Tracy Sarkcess, Mrs. Addo, disclosed that she undertook various odd jobs to sustain herself while studying in Germany.
The entrepreneur mentioned that she worked as a waitress, a customer service representative, a secretary, and in numerous other roles to finance her University education in Germany.
“I have been a waiter before. I worked in customer service. I have worked as a telephonist and as a secretary. These are my capabilities, and I am now one of the most resourceful people you will ever meet.”
Tracy Sarkcess also recounted how she struggled with working conditions as a shop attendant in a Berlin train station.
She said, “I was working in one of the biggest train stations in Berlin. I had to wake up in the cold weather to go to work. As a student, you always got the worst shift.
“They will always give you the shift nobody wants, but I didn’t have a choice because I had to fend for myself. I would work for 6-8 hours and receive little money. I sometimes questioned myself.”
“Beyond that don’t let that be your real life because that is not real life. That is like 30 seconds of someone’s life.
“By this time the person is standing by someone’s Range Rover and she/he is taking a picture and when you see it you question your life,” she admonished.
Tracy’s words resonated with the audience, reminding them to stay true to themselves and not be swayed by the superficiality of social media.
