Sarkodie’s performance at Station Afrique in Paris has been cancelled due to what has been termed a contractual issue, as indicated in a press release regarding the situation.
The event facilitator, Eagle Plug, who advocates for Sarkodie’s interests, communicated this information via social media, explaining that the cancellation stemmed from a disagreement.
A press statement from Eagle Plug, dated August 9, 2024, confirmed that the show was originally planned to be part of the Africa Fan Zone event at Station Afrique.

“EaglePlug regrets to announce the cancellation of Sarkodie’s scheduled performance at the Station Afrique (Africa Fan Zone) event in Paris today, 9th August 2024.
“Although our best efforts were made to honour the commitment, the agency responsible for the event has failed to fulfil its obligations. The contract was signed two (2) months ago but the agency has failed to fulfil the conditions precedent to enable Sarkodie to perform.
“Despite the failure of the agency to respect the terms of the contract, Eagleplug did all within its power to get our artiste and his team to come to Paris in anticipation of the agency keeping its part of the bargain.
“Throughout this period, we have exercised patience and understanding, fully aware of the complexities of organising an event of this scale.
“However, even after the agency’s repeated assurances that all issues would be resolved upon our arrival in Paris, nothing changed. As much as Sarkodie was eager to perform for the wonderful fans who came out to support him, we have been left with no choice but to cancel his performance at the last minute due to the failure of the agency to respect the agreement executed between the parties.
“We sincerely apologize to the fans for this disappointment and hope to see you soon under better circumstances.”

This development comes days after the New Ghana Social Justice Forum petitioned the French National Olympic and Sports Committee to prevent Sarkodie from performing at the Africa Fan Zone.
According to the group, Sarkodie’s alleged derogatory remarks about women, which they view as indicative of misogyny.
Citing instances such as his disrespectful references to Yvonne Nelson in the song ‘Try Me’ and Krobo women in the track ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ with Kurl Songx, the group argues that Sarkodie’s history of disrespect towards women disqualifies him from participating in the Africa Fan Zone event scheduled for August 9, 2024, at the Stade Robert Cesar in France.
“Honouring Sarkodie with the stage at Africa Fan Zone raises concerns, particularly for women. Sarkodie’s past actions, such as labelling actress Yvonne Nelson a prostitute who belongs to the streets in response to her memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ are troubling,” 3News quoted the group as saying.
