A Plus has contended that in the realm of Ghanaian rap, Sarkodie stands alone as the undisputed best, adding fuel to the ongoing debate about Ghana’s greatest rapper of all time.
He argued on UTV’s United Showbiz that Sarkodie’s track record is on par with Daddy Lumba’s, and therefore the discussion about Obrafour’s supremacy should come to an end, as Sarkodie has surpassed the competition.
A Plus also dismisses the notion that social media has artificially inflated Sarkodie’s status, pointing out that this was not a factor during the time of Obrafour, Lord Kenya, and other veteran artists.
On the same platform, Keche Joshua who happens to be one-half of the music duo Keche, acknowledged Sarkodie’s long-standing presence in the industry and his numerous achievements, but he argued that Obrafour and Lord Kenya still hold the top positions.
Joshua pointed out that social media has played a crucial role in Sarkodie’s current dominance in the rap scene, not only in Ghana but across Africa.
He emphasized that if veterans like Obrafour and Lord Kenya had access to this tool during their prime, the debate on who is the greatest of all time in rap music would have been a different story.
His comment has sparked numerous feedbacks from Ghanaians all over social media and entertainment news outlets.
The debate started following a publication by Graphic Online that ranked Sarkodie as the top Ghanaian rapper of all time.
