Nana Romeo has contributed to the ongoing discussion regarding who is Ghana’s all-time greatest rapper, which was initiated by a recent publication in Graphic Showbiz.
During his appearance on United Showbiz on UTV, where he has appeared regularly as a panellist, Nana Romeo, an online personality and presenter at Accra FM, shared his perspective on the divisive conversation within the entertainment news sphere.
Romeo expressed his belief that the ranking which positioned Sarkodie ahead of Obrafour is accurate, emphasizing that the rap veteran is not on the same level as his younger counterpart regarding achievements.
He contended that life is ultimately about accomplishments, and based on the numerous accolades Sarkodie has garnered both locally and internationally, making him the most decorated rapper on the African continent, Obrafour cannot be considered in the same league.
“It shouldn’t be about age and how long someone has been in the industry. Life is about your achievements. Life is not about how long you have been in an industry. It is about the accomplishments and Obrafour comes nowhere near Sarkodie.
“With the number of years Obrafour has been in the industry, can you mention three International collaborations he has had? No, it is difficult because Obrafour didn’t get himself out there as Sarkodie has done since coming to the music scene.
Whether we like it or not, Sarkodie is our greatest rapper, and no one comes before him. We have raper who come after him but there is no one who can be compared to him,” Nana Romeo said.
