For Ghanaian skit maker Ben South, 2024 was nothing short of life-changing. What began as an ordinary year quickly transformed into a series of extraordinary events that catapulted his career and reshaped his life.

“It’s been my best year yet,” he shared in an interview with Zion Felix. “It was a turning point in my life when Sarkodie reached out to me and expressed interest in working together.”

For any young creative in Ghana, collaborating with Sarkodie—a household name and one of Africa’s most influential musicians—is a dream. For Ben South, that dream became a reality when the rapper personally reached out to him.

“The payment I received from him was substantial,” Ben South revealed, smiling as he recounted the moment. “It’s not just about the money, though. Working with Sarkodie has definitely boosted my career and opened doors I never imagined.”

The collaboration allowed him to showcase his talent to a wider audience, but more importantly, it cemented his place as a rising star in the entertainment industry.

But this wasn’t the only miracle Ben South experienced in 2024.

“Something truly unbelievable happened to me this year,” he said, leaning forward as if to emphasize the weight of his words. “A kind individual arranged my visa for me without me even knowing.”

He explained that this life-altering gesture came completely out of the blue. Ben South had casually mentioned his desire to travel abroad during a conversation, never expecting that someone would take his words seriously.

“I only met this person when I was heading back to Ghana,” he said, still amazed by the encounter. “They admired my work and decided to help me without asking for anything in return. They asked for my passport and bank statement, and before I knew it, everything was sorted out—and it didn’t cost me a cedi.”
