President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Sammy Gyamfi as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
Speaking on the appointment, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to the President, stated, “Mr. Gyamfi will spearhead the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), which is one of the core promises outlined in the 2024 NDC manifesto.”
According to the statement, the GoldBod initiative is pivotal to the Mahama administration’s economic revitalization agenda. It aims to facilitate sustainable management and marketing of Ghana’s gold resources.
“The establishment of GoldBod will formalize the small-scale gold mining sector and provide essential support services to the industry,” the statement noted.
Sammy Gyamfi, a lawyer and Economic Policy Analyst brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a BSc in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Laws from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
His academic achievements include certifications from the Ghana School of Law and Harvard Kennedy School, where he specialized in leadership and policy management.
