Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, was introduced to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters during a gathering at Kumasi Jubilee Park in the Ashanti Region in preparation for the 2024 elections.
Notable musicians like Samini, Diana Asamoah, Sidney, and Praye, who are believed to have ties to the ruling party, were present to entertain the enthusiastic crowd.
Barima Sidney, in particular, performed NPP’s campaign songs to the delight of the audience.
Dancehall artist Samini, rapper Guru, and Hiplife artist Praye Tiatia also took the stage to express their endorsement for the NPP candidates and the president, who graced the occasion with his presence.
During his acceptance speech, the Energy Minister highlighted the achievements of his government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stating that it has outperformed all previous administrations in Ghana. Referring to the first President of the country as “your Kwame Nkrumah” sparked controversy and backlash.
He further elaborated on the importance of service, patience, and sacrifice to the young people of Ghana.
In his view, he has been acknowledged for his long-standing commitment, service, and sacrifice to the political party that values the recognition of diligence.
“If you serve and serve very well with the needed dedication, You will reap the benefits of serving. Whatever you are doing if you are a member of TESCON, a hairdresser or anything I will ask you to serve with diligence and be patient because the rewards are enormous,” he said.
