Samini is not done with Sarkodie and has come for his former collaborator once again in a fresh interview hinged on the same ‘disrespect’ he claimed he had meted out to him when he requested a feature.
The evergreen Ghanaian reggae and dancehall specialist called Sarkodie is a two-faced individual who’s full of pride and arrogance. During an interview on The Day Show with host Berla Mundi, Samini expressed his displeasure with Sarkodie’s actions, particularly in relation to his collaborations with more experienced musicians.
Samini, formerly known as Batman, claimed that Sarkodie’s politeness when he requested a collaboration left a lot to be desired. He said that Sarkodie’s response to his request was inadequate, and when asked about it, Sarkodie sidestepped the matter.
In the conversation with Berla, he continued that, “until then he and I we no be cool….He is a two-faced person who will make the public believe I don’t know what I am saying on Twitter when I actually know what I am saying and then I come and ask you questions and then you can’t answer.”
Samini emphasized the significance of older artistes being respected, particularly by upcoming artistes. Young artistes shouldn’t be disrespected, especially when established artists are looking to collaborate, he wanted to convey to them.
“I want young artists to know that it’s not okay to be disrespectful. When you’re asked about something, don’t try to mislead people and make them think the complainer is making things up,” Samini explained.
“I responded to him based on how he treated me before, which made me doubt his respect for legends like myself. Having a ‘blue tick’ doesn’t mean I should assume you respect me after you’ve played games with me, despite my quick response to your requests.”
Samini, in a previous report shared on Tru News Report bordering on the same subject, categorically stated that Sarkodie is not his friend but that, notwithstanding, he always makes sure he maintains a healthy professional relationship with him.
The evergreen dancehall and reggae specialist sat down with ace radio personality and rapper Andy Dosty and clarified why he went off on Sarkodie on Twitter and in a radio interview a few months ago. Samini explained that anytime his younger colleague wanted a collab from him, he was always there for him, but he (Sarkodie) never reciprocated the gesture when he (Samini) needed him.
In his words, the basis of their recent feud was when he reached out to Sarkodie and asked for a feature, but he never minded. Samini said he was peeved with the fact that the revered rapper failed to even reach out to him and explained why the collab was taking so long to be effected from his end but completely ignored him.
