Rev. Obofuor, founder and leader of the Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), has offered a sharp critique of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) performance in the 2024 general elections.
He attributed their defeat to what he described as “pride and arrogance among politicians.” Speaking passionately to his congregation, he emphasized, “Ghanaians, especially the youth, are tired of the arrogance they display.”
The outspoken pastor avoided dissecting the key issues that eroded the NPP’s support base. He highlighted the government’s flagship Free Senior High School program, which initially garnered widespread praise.
However, he noted that the poor quality of food provided under the initiative became a significant source of discontent.

“While the initiative was commendable, the poor quality of food served under the program frustrated many citizens,” he lamented.
Rev. Obofuor also revisited the ongoing challenge of power outages, popular as “dumsor,” a term etched into Ghanaian political discourse.
He reminded his audience that the NPP had harshly criticized the previous administration over this issue, yet failed to deliver a lasting solution during their own tenure.
“Let’s not forget the persistent power outages—dumsor—that they once criticized the previous government for but failed to resolve during their tenure,” he said.
The pastor further commented on the growing frustration among Ghanaians, many of whom, he observed, had been silently enduring hardship for years.
According to him, the tides have shifted. “For years, many Ghanaians have suffered in silence, but now they are speaking out against the challenges and hardships they face,” he remarked.
