Rapper Guru has caused a stir during an appearance on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, where he passionately addressed the pressing issue of paternity fraud.

This topic, often shrouded in stigma and secrecy, has garnered increasing attention in recent years, and Guru’s perspective sheds light on the emotional and psychological implications for men caught in such situations.

During the interview, Guru, who is also the newly elected president of the Student Representative Council at the University of Ghana, Legon, made a compelling case for men to take proactive steps regarding paternity testing.

“I urge all men to request DNA tests for their newborns right after birth,” he stated emphatically. “This is not just about protecting ourselves; it’s about ensuring that we can build a solid foundation for our families.”

He highlighted the alarming rise in paternity fraud cases, noting how these incidents can wreak havoc on the lives of men who discover they have been misled.

“The emotional turmoil caused by this fraud can be devastating,” Guru explained. “Men are often left feeling confused, betrayed, and powerless. This isn’t just a personal issue; it can lead to serious mental health challenges.”

Guru emphasized that the consequences of paternity fraud extend beyond the individual. “When men are hurt, it affects their families and their communities,” he said. “We need to prioritize DNA testing to prevent these situations from escalating and causing long-term harm.”

The rapper’s comments resonate with a growing concern among men about the potential for deception in relationships, particularly when it comes to parenthood.

“This is a widespread issue that many influential men face, and it’s time we start treating it as a serious matter,” Guru asserted. His advocacy for transparency and accountability highlights the need for societal change in how we approach discussions surrounding fatherhood and trust in relationships.
