Rema donates N105m to church for opening shop for his mom when they had nothing

Rema has donated a sum of N105 million to the Christ Embassy in Edo State during their recent Thanksgiving service.

The Afrobeat artist made this donation as a gesture of gratitude for the church’s support during difficult times. In a video shared on social media, Rema recounted how the church assisted his family following the death of his father.

He mentioned that the church provided his mother with a shop when they were feeling isolated after their loss.

Rema’s donations included N40 million for church infrastructure, N20 million for Rhapsodies of Realities, N25 million for the teen church, and N20 million designated for any widow within the congregation.

“The church embraced me, I pledge N40 million to the infrastructure of the church, N20 million to Rhapsodies of Realities, N25 million to teen church.

“When I lost my dad, we felt alone, the church opened a shop for my mum, if there is any widow, I am pledging N20 million,” Rema said in the video clip.

Rema recently pocketed $3 million after securing a gig from one of Asia’s richest men, Mukesh Ambani, to perform at his son Anant Ambani’s upcoming wedding.

The popular Nigerian artist’s hit song Calm Down has gained immense popularity in India, particularly with Anant Ambani.

Social media and entertainment news platforms buzzed with videos of Rema arriving in India for the prestigious event.

In an Instagram post, Rema shared a video of himself in an all-black ensemble heading towards a private chartered plane.

According to Hindustan Times, Rema took $3 million for his performance of ‘Calm Down’ at the wedding.

The high-profile event also featured renowned artists such as Justin Bieber, who reportedly received $10 million for his performance, and Rihanna, whose fee remained undisclosed.

The extravagant wedding took take place on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.
