Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Ras Kuuku has expressed his admiration for his collaboration with Shatta Wale on the track Ye Tali Mu, describing it as one of the most impactful songs ever in Ghana’s reggae/dancehall genre.
During an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Ras Kuuku reflected on the song’s enduring significance and its influence within the local music scene.
Released in 2014, Ye Tali Mu became an anthem in the streets, capturing the hearts of fans and dominating airwaves at a time when both artists were making serious strides in the music industry.
The track, according to Kuuku, was more than just a hit—it was a cultural statement. “That song did something for reggae and dancehall in Ghana that no one can forget,” Kuuku said with evident pride. “It’s a song that made people recognize what reggae and dancehall could be in Ghana.”

This appreciation for the track came in response to a fan’s question about whether Kuuku and Shatta Wale would ever join forces for another collaboration.
While he didn’t confirm any plans for new projects, Ras Kuuku emphasized how much Ye Tali Mu still resonates with listeners nearly a decade after its release.
“People still ask me about that song,” Kuuku shared. “They still vibe with it like it just came out. It was one of those moments where everything just clicked—Shatta and I were on fire.”
