US rapper Tan Da God has been shot and killed over the weekend. Before the fatal incident, she was actively promoting the opening of Glamor Beauty, a beauty supply shop located at 4013 Telegraph Avenue, on her Instagram account.
She had planned to host a meet-and-greet event at the store from noon to 1 pm on Saturday.
However, at around 5 pm, during the ongoing opening party, gunshots were heard, resulting in Tan Da God and another individual being shot.
While the other person is expected to recover from their injuries, Tan Da God succumbed to her wounds at the hospital.
According to a witness at a nearby restaurant, the shooting was carried out by an unidentified individual wearing a hoodie.
Police have reported that the shooting took place during a dispute between Tan Da God and another individual.
The deceased fellow Oakland rapper Mistah FAB posted on Instagram Sunday about the death, writing that he had been booked to appear at the same event with Tan Da God.
“The violence is beyond understanding the hurt the pain the trauma has made a forever lasting impact,” he wrote on Instagram. “I will always remember you as a hustling ass go-getter, with a world of ambition, drive and courage and a heart big as TEXAS!!!!
“I love you lil sis and told you on several occasions sad to see this happen!!! They had me booked to be there with you but GOD had different plans .. to #Tannation family and friends may our warmest condolences be with you!!”
