According to a report by Graphic Online, Randy Abbey is set to officially step down from his role as the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group (IMG), owners of Metro TV, on December 31, 2024.
Abbey, who has been the face of Good Morning Ghana since 2002, will also step down from his position on the IMG board.
As he prepares to leave behind a legacy of leadership and media excellence, the big question remains: Will he continue to host Good Morning Ghana into the new year? Abbey is expected to announce his decision soon, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news.
A heartfelt send-off was held at Metro TV’s Accra headquarters yesterday to celebrate Abbey’s immense contributions to the station.
The event was a testament to his years of dedication and his invaluable impact on Ghanaian television.
Abbey’s career has been nothing short of extraordinary.
From his pivotal role as spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) between 2006 and 2014 to his successful takeover of the Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club, he has shown time and again that his influence extends beyond television.
In 2019, he was voted to the Ghana Football Association Executive Committee and later took on the role of Chairman of the Black Satellites management committee, a position he continues to hold following the team’s victory in the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
