Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to undergo medical treatment abroad

Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is set to undergo further medical treatment abroad following a sudden illness.

A statement from the Presidency, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, confirmed that the Vice President received initial treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The illness reportedly occurred after work on Friday, March 28.

“Based on expert medical opinion, she will be seeking further care abroad,” the statement read, without providing further details on her condition.

The government has extended well wishes for her speedy recovery as the nation watches closely for updates on her health.
