Ghana’s music industry has been hit with devastating news as Eric Nkrumah, popularly known as Unda Beatz, has tragically passed away.
The beloved music producer’s death was confirmed by his long-time collaborator, rapper Yaa Pono, alongside other close associates.
While the exact cause of his passing remains unknown, the news has sent shockwaves through the Ghanaian music scene.

Unda Beatz, recognized for his significant contributions to the Tema music movement, worked with some of Ghana’s top artists, including Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Yaa Pono.
His production skills were instrumental in creating several hits, such as “Top Skanka” and “Sobolo” for Stonebwoy.
The latter track earned him recognition, winning Highlife Song of the Year at the 2021 3Music Awards.
In 2019, Unda Beatz was nominated for the Instrumentalist of the Year category at the Ghana Music Awards, cementing his status as a key figure in the industry.
Just days before his passing, Unda Beatz had shared celebratory birthday photos on social media, making this loss even more shocking for his friends, collaborators, and fans.
