Bessa Simons has observed the current trend among musicians, where many of them produce music that does not withstand the test of time.
In light of this, he has requested that they review their lyrical compositions and create songs that are similar to those produced by veteran musicians who are still being appreciated in the industry. According to him, every artist should have at least one meaningful song that resonates with their brand indefinitely.
Furthermore, Bessa Simons has emphasized that while young artists are creating good music, some of them deviate and produce songs of low quality simply to please the masses temporarily.
The legendary Highlife artiste, who happens to be the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), reminded these artists that renowned figures like Amakye Dede, Daddy Lumba, and Nana Acheampong have timeless songs that the younger generation continues to enjoy.
Speaking at the EP Listenng of Kofi Kinaata, Bessa Simons indicated that each young musician should at least release one sensible song in their career.
He said “This is super and like I always say to the young ones, in your lifetime you have to write one sensible song. But you always give us sensible songs.
What I’m so moved by is the element of highlife in the music. You can tell you are coming from a place where you have an authentic kind of rhythm and where we do the rhythm,” he said.
In other Kofi Kinaata news, the rapper and songwriter recently reacted to a death prophecy about him made by a Ghanaian pastor recently.
He emphasized that he maintains a strong connection with God through daily prayers, therefore he believes that nothing harmful will occur to him.
Dismissing the pastor’s prediction, Kinaata mentioned that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and is unfazed about the prophecy the unnamed man of God revealed.
He also pointed out that since gaining fame, he has been the subject of similar prophecies multiple times, suggesting that some individuals falsely claim to be pastors and fabricate such theories.
