Afua Asantewaa is currently on Day 3 of her attempt to break the record for the longest singing marathon.
To boost her confidence, numerous Ghanaian celebrities, including musicians, actors, and radio personalities, have gathered at Akwaaba Village, the venue for her performance.
Afua’s ultimate goal is to surpass the existing record of 105 hours, set by an Indian individual in 2012. She proudly shared this update on her Twitter platform and appealed for further support as she continues her remarkable journey.
The previous record for the longest singing marathon by an individual was achieved by Sunil Waghmare from India. Lasting for 105 hours, the marathon took place in Nagpur, India, from March 3 to 7, 2012. The attempt commenced at 11:06 a.m. on March 3, featuring a diverse range of popular Indian songs.
Notably, no song was repeated within a 4-hour interval. The marathon concluded on the evening of March 7, with Mr. Waghmare engaging in a sing-song session alongside his supporters.
In the meantime, we are grateful to Facebook user Abby Awuni for sharing some photos of celebrities who have shown their support for Afua since the beginning of her journey. See below:
