Social media personality and actress Efia Odo has fired back at presidential hopeful Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, over his recent claim that the FixTheCountry protest and similar movements were orchestrated by political parties.
Cheddar had previously suggested that the recent protests, including the anti-galamsey demonstrations, were politically motivated, accusing the country’s political duopolies of manipulating public sentiment for personal gain.
Efia Odo, a vocal supporter and participant in the FixTheCountry movement, didn’t hold back in her criticism of Cheddar’s remarks. In a sharp rebuttal, she questioned the integrity of his claims, stating:
“Wow Cheddar, you really have the nerve to say Fix The Country was organized by a political party? I see. We’ve had peaceful protests for decades, and where did it get us?”
Background
Presidential hopeful Nana Kwame Bedikao, popularly known as Cheddar sharply criticized recent protests nationwide, claiming political parties are orchestrating them for selfish gains in a statement captured in a video.
Cheddar hinted at the hidden forces behind protests like “Julorbi” and “FixTheCountry,” stating that they were masterminded by one of the duopolies ruling the political scene.
“Well, let me tell you something, all of these protests and demonstrations that have been organized in this country in the past year or two, they are organized by one of the duopolies. It is the same politician, and I said it.
“I am not going to mention names, but you know that Julorbi and FixTheCountry were fixed by one of the existing parties. We cannot do this to ourselves and destroy this country because of a politician, personal interest, or a party interest,” he declared passionately.
