Former Campaign Communications Manager for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has expressed deep concern over the alleged involvement of President John Mahama and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in illegal mining activities.
In a social media post, he accused the government of failing to protect Ghana’s forests and water bodies, stating that the rapid environmental degradation under their leadership is alarming.
“The way the President and his NDC Party members have invaded our forest and water bodies with their Galamsey machines is not just alarming but life-threatening, and we simply want to remind him of his pledges to deal with the Galamsey menace,” he wrote.
Miracles criticized what he described as a government focused on “settings & packaging” rather than fulfilling its promises.
“We are simply reminding the ‘settings & packaging’ government about their promises and the need to fulfil them. Not too much to ask. Our water bodies are becoming thick Milo drinks without Nido under 90 days,” he lamented.
He further alleged that individuals defending the government’s actions are more focused on political attacks than addressing the issue at hand. “When we say it, members of this wash and wear government will come under this post and all you will see them write will be; – you will be in opposition for 100 years – that’s why you got 38.1% – and some plenty nonfa,” he added.
Dennis Miracles warned that if the destruction continues at the current pace, Ghana’s natural resources could be completely devastated by December 2028.
“If this NDC Galamsey kingpins can degrade the forest reserves and water bodies rapidly like this under 90 days, then you can imagine what will be left by December 2028. The real Galamsey kingpins are in power and the state is in serious danger,” he stressed.
