Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu Faces Possible Suspension Over Ashanti Election Report

Media personality Gordon Asare-Bediako has alleged that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is considering suspending former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu over his handling of a key election report.

According to Asare-Bediako, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s decision to submit the Ashanti Regional report on the 2024 elections to the regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has sparked controversy within the party.

“They have orchestrated that Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who led the report for the 2024 election and gave it to Wontumi, should not have done that.

So, a leader of the party has said that he should be called before a committee and suspended,” Asare-Bediako revealed on Movement Television.

The alleged move to suspend Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has raised eyebrows, as he is a long-serving figure within the NPP and has played a crucial role in parliamentary affairs for years. The party leadership is yet to officially confirm or deny the claims.

This development adds to the growing tensions within the NPP as it navigates internal power struggles since they lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
