Onua TV has made it clear that their dynamic presenter and host of Maakye, Captain Smart, has not tendered his resignation from Media General, despite the widespread rumours suggesting otherwise.
During the live broadcast of his popular program, Maakye on Onua TV, Captain Smart sensationally announced his resignation from Onua TV/radio, a subsidiary of Media General.
In a passionate speech, he expressed his excitement for the new path he has chosen. Captain Smart took a moment to express his gratitude to his co-workers, as well as the management and staff of Media General, the parent company of Onua TV.
He also extended his appreciation to the loyal viewers of the show. Reflecting on his time at Onua TV, Captain Smart acknowledged the valuable experience and exposure he gained during his tenure.
He expressed pride in his achievements and contributions to the flagship Maakye Show, which covers a wide range of topics, including current affairs, social issues, and entertainment. It is worth noting that Captain Smart joined Onua TV in June 2021 after leaving his previous position at Angel TV and Radio, where he had worked for four years.
Onua TV, however, refuted the reports on their Facebook page, labeling them as false. They shared a video showcasing Smart’s exact words to strengthen their position, asserting that he is still affiliated with them and accusing the media outlets of distorting his statements.
