Rapper Okyeame Kwame has addressed rumours surrounding his alleged involvement with Freemasons.
In a recent interview that has sparked conversation around the entertainment news landscape, he made it clear that he is not a member of the Freemasons but has conducted extensive research on their beliefs and principles.
The veteran rapper mentioned that after gaining a deeper understanding of their values and goals, he has developed a respect for the organization.
Okyeame Kwame also emphasized his view that Freemasonry plays a positive role in society by preparing young people for future responsibilities.
Furthermore, he debunked misconceptions about Freemasonry, such as the false beliefs about occult practices like blood-drinking and rituals for acquiring wealth, stating that his findings did not support these allegations.
“I am not a Freemason, but the idea of joining has crossed my mind. I’ve invested considerable effort in studying its essence.
“I’ve delved into numerous books and engaged with several Freemasons. It’s not at all like the world portrays it, as some kind of occult where blood-drinking, sacrifices, and initiations occur.
“Based on my research, I view it as a collective of men shaping boys into responsible societal leaders, offering support in education and ethics.
“It’s said that even those with a history of murder are barred from Freemason membership,” he told Blakk Rasta on 3FM.
Freemasonry or Masonry refers to fraternal organisations that trace their origins to the local guilds of stonemasons that, from the end of the 14th century, regulated the qualifications of stonemasons and their interaction with authorities and clients.
Modern Freemasonry broadly consists of two main recognition groups: Regular Freemasonry, which insists that a volume of scripture be open in a working lodge, that every member professes belief in a Supreme Being, that no women be admitted, and that the discussion of religion and politics do not take place within the lodge; and Continental Freemasonry, which consists of the jurisdictions that have removed some, or all, of these restrictions.
