Ghanaian socialite Nana Tonardo has taken a swipe at broadcast journalist Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, accusing him of showing poor judgment by allowing his mother to publicly criticize Prophet Opambour.
The outspoken socialite did not mince words, describing the situation as a self-inflicted debacle.
“For Okatakyie to come on air and call me unwise, then turn around and bring his mother on air to insult Opambour and myself shows a lack of thought,” Tonardo remarked. “He’s essentially put his mother on a silver platter for everyone to insult.”
Nana Tonardo argued that Okatakyie’s decision to involve his mother in a public feud was irresponsible and set her up for a backlash.

He questioned the wisdom behind the move, saying, “If people are insulting her today, who permitted them to do so? If she had been thoughtful, she wouldn’t even have spoken about Opambour.”
The controversy stems from Okatakyie’s mother making statements against Prophet Opambour during a live broadcast, a move that drew criticism and backlash online.
While the comments were initially aimed at Opambour, the discussion soon spiralled, with critics directing their remarks at Okatakyie’s mother herself.
