Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder and leader of International God’s Way Church, has strongly criticized prophets whose predictions about the 2024 elections failed to materialize.
In a direct message posted on social media, Obinim warned religious leaders to refrain from making further political prophecies now that the results of the elections are clear.
Obinim, addressing the failed prophecies of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) victory, declared,
“All those prophets who prophesied that the NPP would win and the NDC would lose in this election, I don’t want to hear any of you on TV or social media declaring any fake prophecies, claiming that the NPP lost because they didn’t do their prophecies properly.”

His message was aimed at those who had declared confidently that the NPP would secure a sweeping victory, only for the NDC to emerge as the winner.
The bishop went on to issue a stern warning: “This is Angel Obinim speaking: If I see anyone on social media or TV giving prophecies after the elections, saying any political party didn’t fulfil their prophecies well, I will mention your name and fire you on social media.
“You people are a disgrace.” Obinim’s sharp words highlight his dissatisfaction with what he perceives as a pattern of misleading prophecies that have caused confusion and frustration among Ghanaians.
Leading up to the election, several prominent prophets made predictions about the political outcome, with many backing the NPP to win.
These prophecies were widely followed, particularly by their adherents, who believed their leaders had divine insight into the results.
However, with the NDC’s victory, many are now questioning the validity of such claims.
