The Communications Manager for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has finally broken his silence on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) crushing defeat in the 2024 elections, revealing how deeply the loss affected him both emotionally and physically.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, he described the defeat as shocking and admitted that he had to take some time off to process the outcome.

“The defeat in the election was very shocking so I had to take some time off. For me, I even fell ill,” he stated.

Miracles Aboagye further disclosed that the disappointment extended beyond just party members, as many influential figures who had placed their hopes in the NPP were left heartbroken.

“I received calls from people who were hopeful the NPP was going to win, and they were heartbroken. That really affected me,” he said.

According to him, the distress was particularly heavy because these were individuals with extensive experience in governance who believed that the NPP was the party best positioned to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

“These are senior people who have seen the governance of the country over the years and know that the NPP is the political party which can better the lot of Ghanaians, and that is what affected me,” he explained.
