The National Youth Wing of the NPP has accused President John Mahama’s government of deceit after allegedly planning to scrap nursing and teacher trainee allowances, despite campaign promises to maintain them.

“We knew Mahama would renege on his promises, but we didn’t expect it this soon,” National Youth Organizer Salam Mustapha stated.

The group described the move as a “scam” and urged students to resist the policy shift, arguing that colleges remain distinct from universities and should not be subjected to student loan schemes.

The statement also condemned social commentator Kevin Taylor for allegedly insulting trainees, calling for an apology from Mahama.

“Say no to political scam! Say no to political bullying!” the statement concluded, vowing the NPP Youth Wing’s support for affected students.
