Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament representing the Old Tafo constituency, has explained the connection between Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and the rising star King Paluta during Bawumia’s visit to the Ashanti Region.

Offering a fresh perspective on the matter that drew criticism towards King Paluta for aligning himself with Bawumia, the MP suggested that the NPP Flagbearer had no intention of exploiting the young artist for political gain.

During an interview with Jonnie Hughes on TV3, Assafuah revealed that Bawumia was highly impressed by King Paluta’s song ‘Aseda’, which prompted him to extend an invitation for the artist to perform alongside him.

The MP further explained that despite the vice president’s unfamiliarity with the song’s lyrics, his eagerness to participate in the performance brought him immense joy and satisfaction.

Assafuah emphasized that ‘Aseda’ holds a special place among the NPP flagbearer’s favourite songs.

“I think Paluta was probably proud to have the vice president choose his song and show the Ghanaian people that it’s a song he loves. When the song [Aseda] played, I could see the happiness on his face.

“I was standing very close to him and realized that he [Bawumia] loved the lyrics. He couldn’t sing it well, so I helped him. I sang along with him. You could see he loved the song by his movements and expression,” he said.

Social media users were displeased with King Paluta for involving himself in politics at a time when his career was gaining momentum, as previously stated in our entertainment news.

They mentioned that he should focus on his musical journey, especially since he has been in the industry for several years and is now gaining recognition.

Furthermore, there are comments suggesting that King Paluta is simply capitalizing on the opportunity to receive a substantial amount of money from Bawumia, who is willing to offer financial incentives to celebrities to secure victory in the elections.

See some of the reactions that emerged;

Agbleta Francis: Every musician is for money, therefore King Paluta is just loading his wallet. The bag is full of money, bro just receive yours and go. After all that’s Bawumia’s last strategy.

Olive Vasco: Since we like comedies, they’re serving us hot throwing the bread and butter issues overboard. After we voted as comedy lovers, our stomach will direct us to the bread and butter issues again.

Amuzu Godwin: Boys must eat and chill before send off party.

Isaac Arthur: So who really gives counsel to our Vice President or still Dutch passport is better than Doctorate and PhD. Politricktions

Frank DreamOcean: Underground artist who found grace after 15yrs underground wants to jeopardize his already shaken career by indulging in politics! They never learn! U shall return to the oblivion you came from.

Transparency Ghana · The truth is that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most impactful Vice President in Ghana’s history.

Candour Opoku-Prempeh Aboagye: Everything one minute Npp campaign. Npp against God.

Kwasigah Norbert: Meaning God bless Bawumia and curses Ghanaians with his leadership and high costs of living. And we the suffering masses are jealous of his luxurious lifestyles. 7th is just some few months away. We pray for strength and longevity
