Deputy Finance Minister-designate, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has expressed concern over the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision to boycott the National Economic Dialogue (NED), describing it as a troubling development.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV, he remarked, “For me, it is a worry that our friends on the other side [Minority] decided to stay out of this important forum.”
Nyarko Ampem recalled a similar situation when the NPP boycotted the Royal Senchi Economic Forum under then-Finance Minister Seth Terkper.
“There was a similar forum at Royal Senchi they boycotted when Seth Terkper was the finance minister. And unfortunately, they haven’t been here, too,” he stated.
