Filmmaker and New Patriotic Party (NPP) fanatic, Socrate Safo, has expressed his support for Brother Sammy regarding his recent advice to men about the possibility of having children outside of marriage.
Socrate reinforced his viewpoint with biblical references, illustrating how various prophets and significant figures in the Bible had children outside of wedlock.
He further noted that today’s fast-paced society often creates conditions that make it more acceptable for individuals to have children without the commitment of marriage.
He stated, “I agree with what Brother Sammy said. It’s not a bad thing to have a child with a lady you aren’t married to.
“All this happened in the Bible; back then it was a norm. We had prophets who had children with their concubines. Children of concubines were not bastards that they got rid of.”
Safo further noted that given the current societal context, having children outside of marriage might become more accepted.
“Looking at the world we find ourselves in now, I believe it will be a norm that you have a child with a lady you are not married to,” he added while speaking on Okay FM.
Gospel musician Brother Sammy caused a stir recently when he urged men to refrain from marriage while encouraging them to have children with partners of their choice.
As a Christian and gospel musician, his remarks have sparked considerable debate online, as they appear to contradict core Christian values.
Brother Sammy, who calls himself the Nations Worshipper, stated that this perspective is not new for him, as he has advocated for this approach among men for quite some time.
Speaking on Neat FM, Brother expressed that, although he is married, he would not recommend others follow the same path, arguing that marriage favours women more than men.
This statement followed a question from the show’s host, Ola Michael, regarding the current status of his marriage.
