Stonebwoy’s camp is making a strong case for his dominance in this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), with Burniton Music Group’s (BMG) Head of Public Relations, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, asserting that no contender in the Artiste of the Year (AOTY) category surpasses him.
“With regard to the category definition that places premium on the artiste with the highest audience appeal and highest nominations, no one in that category beats Stonebwoy,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview on Monday, March 24.
Backing her claim with statistics, she highlighted the Jiggle and Whine hitmaker’s impact over the past year. “First, Stonebwoy has three major hits, Psalm 23, Ekelebe, and Jiggle and Whine on the Up and Runnin6 album, and they have been nominated in various categories in this year’s TGMAs. This is a record no artiste in the calendar year can boast of.”
She further emphasized the strength of Stonebwoy’s 13-track album, which features global stars like Wyclef Jean, Spice, Odumodublvck, Ginton, IR Sais, Duncan Mighty, and Amaria BB, gaining massive traction not just in Ghana but also in the Caribbean and beyond.
“Also, this year, Stonebwoy had eight nominations, making him the highest nominee in this year’s TGMA, and none of his contenders in the AOTY category beats that record.”
With these accolades, BMG believes Stonebwoy has solidified his position as the frontrunner for the prestigious Artiste of the Year award.
