Kuami Eugene, one of Ghana’s top musicians, recently responded to an interview in which his former housekeeper, Mary, revealed the meagre salary she received while working for him.
Despite forming a close bond with Mary and even sharing videos of them dancing together, Ghanaians were surprised to learn that she was only being paid GHC 400 per month by the Ghanaian superstar, considering his status as one of the most sought-after artistes on the African continent.
Many were shocked by this revelation, as it is common for domestic workers in Ghana to receive this amount, but one would expect a higher salary for someone working for a celebrity like Kuami Eugene.
As shared by Tru News Report, Mary, a former housekeeper of Kwame Eugene revealed to a Ghanaian blogger that the famous artist used to pay her a meagre GHC400 when she worked for him.
The young lady then added that after two years, her salary was increased to a mere GHC600. Unfortunately, she claimed during the interview that, due to some misunderstandings, Kuami Eugene had to let her go.
Kuami Eugene has previously expressed his admiration for his housekeeper, Mary, during an interview. However, he made it clear that he would not pursue any romantic relationship with her.
According to Kuami, Mary has become like a family member to him, thanks to his fiancée who introduced them two years ago.
