Post Malone can presumably enter many locations simply by virtue of who he is, regardless of his tattoos or attire, but an Australian rooftop pub is not one of them.
The famous musician was refused admittance to QT Perth over the weekend because the establishment’s dress code forbids “facial, neck, and obscene tattoos,” according to a Billboard article from Monday (February 13).
“They turned me away for my tattoos,” Posty told The West Australian. “I’ve never really experienced anything like that.”
However, it seems that the bouncer didn’t realize it was Post Malone, as the bar’s apology appears to say things would have gone differently if they did.
“At QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual,” they wrote in a statement. “QT has been recognized for this for many years. However, on Saturday night, our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the individuals affected.”
The adjoining 18 Knots rooftop bar reportedly greeted Post with open arms after he left, and they are undoubtedly delighted that their rival flubbed up.
The “Rockstar” singer was Down Under to open for Red Hot Chili Peppers on their six-date stadium tour of Australia, which wrapped on Sunday night (February 12).
Back in October, Post added the initials “DDP” in Olde English font to his collection of ever-expanding face tattoos on his forehead. Although he hasn’t yet disclosed the child’s entire name, the singer’s daughter, who was born in May, is said to go by the initials DDP.
