The debate regarding Nana Ama Mcbrown’s age was resolved when her mother appeared on live television to clarify the situation.
Ghanaians have frequently mocked the Kumawood actress and television host about her age, claiming she is older than the age she publicly states. They also suggest that Mcbrown uses heavy makeup to conceal her true age.
During her 47th birthday celebration on August 17, Mcbrown invited her biological mother to her Onua Showtime TV show to dispel the rumours surrounding her age, while also taking the opportunity to express her heartfelt appreciation for her mother’s support and guidance throughout the years.
During the fervour, McBrown asked her mother directly, “Mother, I am 47 years old, right? Please confirm my actual age.”
Her mom replied, “Yes, you are 47 years old. Some people say you are 50, but 47 is your correct age.”
Previously, GhanaStreetJournal reported that Nana Ama Mcbrown was preparing to facilitate the release of 47 inmates to celebrate her 47th birthday, as announced by Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, CEO of the Crime Check Foundation.
The actress and television presenter, who will celebrate her birthday on August 15, has expressed a desire to partner with Ibrahim to implement this initiative in honour of her special day this year.
Ibrahim and his organization have been advocating for effective justice delivery through prison documentaries and media outreach, successfully attracting the attention of the government and other key players in the criminal justice system.
In a recent video, Mr Oppong Kwarteng was seen interacting with inmates at Akuse Prison, one of the facilities that will benefit from Mcbrown’s philanthropic efforts.
