Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has taken a swipe at Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah over his recent call for President John Dramani Mahama to remove Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare from office.
In a fiery response, Agradaa questioned Owusu-Bempah’s motives, arguing that no one is above the law and that Dampare’s actions as IGP should not be politicized.
“What is your interest if the NDC government decides to maintain Dampare for the next four years? You are calling for his removal because you brandished guns and knives to threaten me, which the law doesn’t permit, and nobody is above the law… He arrested you because of what you did,” she stated.
Agradaa, who has had her own legal encounters with the police, recounted how she once spent 40 days in police cells, an experience that she believes was politically motivated. However, she insists that her ordeal has not made her resent the IGP personally.
“IGP Dampare made me spend 40 days in cells, but that doesn’t mean I am going to hate him. I will never hate the IGP because whatever happened to me was influenced by powerful people above him. I know he wouldn’t have treated me the way he did if he wasn’t asked to do so,” she added.
She further accused Owusu-Bempah of hypocrisy, bringing up his past association with New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman Wontumi and how it allegedly influenced his stance on political matters.
“You are claiming that the same Chairman Wontumi made you dislike John Mahama, and you stood on your altar to falsely prophesy about Mahama, meanwhile, you are a liar,” Agradaa fired.
