My Team Has Successfully Restored My Account – Mahama Confirms X Account Recovery

, Ghana Street Journal

President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that his official X (formerly Twitter) account, @JDMahama, has been successfully restored after being compromised on March 16, 2025.

Announcing the recovery, he wrote, “Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account.”

The first sign of the breach was when Mahama’s account unexpectedly began posting promotional content for Solanafrica, a cryptocurrency project.

The unauthorized posts falsely claimed that the President was leading an initiative to facilitate free payments across Africa using the Solana blockchain.

Addressing the situation, Mahama expressed gratitude for the support received from his team and X support in swiftly regaining control.

The breach had sparked concerns among his followers, with many questioning the authenticity of the posts.

Now that the account has been restored, his team is expected to take further steps to enhance security and prevent future incidents.
