Gospel artist Celestine Donkor has shared the story of how her husband made a bold move to marry her in Ghana, despite never having met her in person before.
According to the singer, a mutual friend played matchmaker and connected them.
Once they exchanged numbers, they began communicating extensively on Yahoo Messenger, which was one of the limited social media platforms available at the time.
After months of building a connection over the phone, Celestine’s husband decided to travel to Ghana to marry her. He even prepared the necessary engagement lists to ensure a smooth and efficient traditional marriage ceremony.
“We met through a friend who left Ghana for abroad. They spoke about me and he took my number so we were talking on phone. At the time it was yahoo messenger we were using. My husbnd took my engagement list and everything even before seeing me physically.
“He came to Ghana purposely to marry me. He said he also prayed about me and before he met me through my friend there was a word he was actually looking forward to.
“There was just a word hanging on his life and was waiting for the manifestation. So when he met my friend and there was a discussion he got to know that this is the person the man of God spoke about,” she said on Property FM.
