Davido, one of Africa’s biggest music stars, is gearing up for his 32nd birthday on November 22, and his excitement is palpable.

The Afrobeat star took to social media to reflect on his journey with a mix of gratitude and resilience. “BIG 32 SOON!!! OMO GOD IS GOOD, HAPPY TO ALIVE!! MY EYE DON SEE SHEGE!! BUT STEADY MY FANS DEY SHOUT SHEKPE!!!” he wrote, his words encapsulating the rollercoaster of life he’s experienced over the years.

For Davido, this isn’t just another birthday; it’s a moment to appreciate survival and triumph. His declaration, “My eye don see shege”—a colloquial Nigerian phrase meaning he’s faced tough times—points to a journey marked by personal tragedies and professional pressures.

But true to his spirit, Davido remains focused on his blessings, crediting his fans and faith for keeping him grounded. “God is good,” he says, a sentiment that resonates deeply with anyone who has followed his life and career.

In the past few years, the Nigerian superstar has navigated some of the most challenging moments of his life. The tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi, in 2022 was a devastating blow that tested his strength.

Yet, in true Davido fashion, he turned that pain into purpose, releasing his record-breaking album Timeless earlier this year.

Speaking about his resilience in a previous interview, he once admitted, “Life is not always fair, but you have to keep going. My fans and family remind me that there’s always a reason to celebrate.”

His birthday post also highlighted the unshakable bond he shares with his fans, affectionately referred to as the “30 Billion Gang.”

Their unwavering support has been a constant source of motivation, as they continue to champion him through life’s ups and downs.

The reference to “Shekpe,” a popular catchphrase that has become synonymous with Davido’s performances, is his nod to the millions who have cheered him on over the years.
