My attack on Socrates Safo was premeditated- A Plus admits

A Plus has acknowledged that his altercation with Socrate Safo, which led to his early exit from United Showbiz, was intentional.

In an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, July 12, A Plus explained that his actions towards the filmmaker and supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were premeditated as a form of retaliation for Safo’s alleged backing of NPP supporters who had previously instigated a confrontation with him during a past episode of United Showbiz.

It is worth noting that in July 2024, Socrate Safo left the United Showbiz program after a contentious exchange with A Plus regarding the government’s distribution of funds to film producers.

The argument escalated when A Plus made derogatory comments, comparing Socrate’s intelligence to that of a chicken’s clitoris. Socrate requested an apology, which A Plus did not provide, resulting in Safo’s exit from the show.

In his explanation, A Plus expressed regret to his fans and others who respect him for his remarks towards Socrate, but he maintained that his actions were warranted.

“It was the right thing to do…It is alleged that you (Socrate Safo) said you were happy that people wanted to come and beat me. Let’s say it is not true that he said it. But did you condemn it?

“Because you are the NPP person who comes on the show. You didn’t condemn it. Then you come back on that same show that you wanted people to come and beat me to come and talk about Akufo-Addo?

“If you think that just speaking against your government deserves what happened, then what were you coming to do there?” A Plus said.

He continued; “I knew that I couldn’t tell the producer not to bring Socrate on the show but I’ll make sure that he leaves. So when he was leaving, I was happy that I had achieved my aim. Mission accomplished,” he said.

Despite the intense discussion, A Plus observed that Socrate remained patient in collecting his per diem before his departure.

“Even with that, he waited to take his compensation of GH₵500, he was patient enough to wait and take the money before he stormed out,” he added.
