The Music Haven 2023 Festival will take place in Schenectady, New York, from July 8–14, and its headlining act will be Grammy-nominated Ghanaian reggae artist Rocky Dawuni.
Rocky Dawuni, who has been nominated for his third Grammy Award, is a well-known activist who has advocated for positive social and environmental change for quite some time and who is now, among other titles, the UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment in Africa.
The Music Haven Festival is an international celebration of music and artistic performances. Artists from Georgia, South Asia, Texas, Gambia, Louisiana, Texas, England’s Stratford upon Avon, Texas, the Gambia, and Texas will all be performing at the event alongside Dawuni.
On July 9th, Schenectady will host the international superstar who is known for his unique blend of reggae, afrobeat, highlife, and soul music.
The producing artistic director Mona Golub said, “This summer, our musical journeys will cross seven distinct bodies of water… We’ll gather to hear spectacular global artists who have not played these parts before, welcome back some old friends who have dazzled the world since they last graced our stage, and showcase, as special guests, some of the finest talents our region has to offer.“
