Stonebwoy disclosed that music has always been his calling since childhood, emphasizing that if music doesn’t choose someone, it won’t find them.
This revelation came during his recent interview with France 24 TV. Stonebwoy shared that upon realizing his natural inclination towards music, he merged words, sound, and power to craft his art.
He stated; “I discovered music when I was like a child after I knew that music has chosen me because if it doesn’t choose you, you can’t discover it.
“When I found out and realized that I had no option then I had to represent words, sound and power which combinations make music.
“And music is a spiritual message that we have to send across nations,” he mentioned.
Stonebwoy also talked about Ashaiman, a very tough suburb of Accra, saying having succeded from such a background testifies to his greatness.
He mentioned during the interview that in Ghana, Ashaiman is known as a difficult place to thrive, so emerging as a star from there showcases the inspirational nature of his journey to the global audience, not just within Ghana.
He stated; “I grew up in a city called Ashaiman which is one of the biggest suburbs in Accra which actually embodies people from all walks of life.
“In Ghana when you say Ashaiman people know it’s a tough place to grow from and so being like a star from Ashaiman can only tell you how inspirational my journey has been to the world not only Ghana.
“Because anybody who can zoom into it can see that and of course winning the Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year among many other awards like the BET etc.
“It tells you how consistent I’ve been all over the years and living my purpose of using music as a tool,” he said.
