What was supposed to be an ordinary movie night turned into a terrifying experience when the ceiling of Liberty Cinema in Wenatchee, Washington, collapsed mid-screening of Captain America: Brave New World.
The incident, which occurred on February 25, 2025, saw a large section of the ceiling crash down onto the seating area.
Fortunately, only two moviegoers were present at the time, and both managed to escape without injuries.
One patron, hearing strange cracking noises, warned the other just moments before the collapse, allowing them to react swiftly. While one was momentarily buried under debris, they emerged unscathed.

Liberty Cinema, a historic theater in operation since 1919, has been temporarily shut down as investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway.
Sun Basin Theatres, the company managing the venue, has assured the public that safety remains a top priority and that necessary repairs will be made before reopening.
Fire officials have acknowledged the fortunate timing of the incident, noting that had it occurred during peak hours, the outcome could have been far more tragic.
