Diana Hamilton has addressed Mercy Chinwo’s ongoing issues with her producer, expressing concern and solidarity with her fellow gospel musician.
In an interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray monitored by Ghanastreetjournal, Diana shared that she reached out to Mercy, offering prayers and support during this difficult time.
“I sent her a voice note, letting her know she’s in my prayers,” she said. Diana explained that sometimes people going through personal or professional turmoil may not be ready to talk, so she respected Mercy’s space.
“She responded to my message, but she hasn’t been able to pick my calls yet, and that’s okay. I just want her to know I’m here for her.”
When asked whether she viewed the situation as a mere business dispute or a spiritual attack on the body of Christ, Diana admitted it was a complex matter.
“What I pray for is that God be glorified in this, that peace prevails, and that calmness is restored when everything is over,” she said.
She reaffirmed her friendship with Mercy, stating that they have always communicated frequently, and this situation has not changed her stance of support.
Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo is embroiled in a legal dispute with her former record label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, CEO of EeZee Conceptz.
Chinwo has accused ThankGod of diverting over $345,000 in royalties owed to her from various streaming platforms.
She also alleges that he engaged in intimidation, isolation, and bullying tactics during their professional relationship.
In response, ThankGod refutes the allegations, asserting that he invested significant resources into Chinwo’s career and that any funds retained are rightfully his. He emphasizes that he discovered Chinwo and played a pivotal role in her rise to prominence.
This dispute highlights the complexities of artist-label relationships in the Nigerian gospel music industry, underscoring the importance of clear contractual agreements and transparent financial dealings.
