Megan Thee Stallion has decided to take legal action against YouTuber Milagro Gramz, fed up with what she describes as “false statements and narratives” about her, particularly in relation to the Tory Lanez case.
On Wednesday, October 30, Megan filed a federal lawsuit in Florida’s Southern District court, highlighting the detrimental impact Gramz’s remarks have had on her mental and emotional well-being. The lawsuit details the significant personal and economic harm caused by Gramz’s conduct.
It states, “Defendant’s conduct caused, and continues to cause, significant personal and economic harm to [Megan]. It injured her reputation and standing as a professional musician. It caused severe mental and emotional harm.
It caused economic harm in Plaintiff’s efforts to remove the various ‘bots’ Defendant enlists to attack Plaintiff’s supporters.”
Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, has been a prominent figure in the music industry, known for her powerful lyrics and dynamic performances. However, her career has been marred by the highly publicized incident involving Tory Lanez.
In July 2020, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, shot Megan in the foot following an argument.
Lanez was subsequently convicted and is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the crime. The lawsuit charges Gramz with several offences, including the “promotion of an altered sexual depiction” for allegedly directing her followers to a deepfake video of Megan having sex, cyberstalking, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy (false light).
The latter, according to Cornell University’s Legal Information Institute, involves spreading falsehoods about someone that would be considered objectionable by the average person.
The suit also highlights Gramz’s “conspiratorial relationship” with Tory Lanez, accusing her of acting as a paid surrogate to spread falsehoods about Megan.
