Burna Boy has expressed his sentiments in his upcoming song regarding the misconception among Nigerians that one can only become wealthy by participating in politics and its associated corruption.

In a preview of his unreleased track, ‘Empty Chairs’ from his latest album, ‘No Sign Of Weakness,’ Burna conveyed the struggles of people who have achieved wealth without political involvement.

Additionally, the Grammy award-winning artist also addressed the shift of his adversaries from the streets to online platforms in the same song.

He sang; “If you no be politician and you manage get rich, them go turn you victim of society. My enemies are no longer on the streets of the road. Now they’re on the internet for the blogs”.

Burna Boy’s album Love, Damini, his sixth studio release, made history in 2022 by achieving the highest debut for a Nigerian album on the Billboard 200 chart.

Additionally, it reached the highest position for an African album in France, the Netherlands, and the UK.

In recognition of his musical accomplishments, Burna Boy was honoured with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic plaque in October.

The following year, Rolling Stone included Burna Boy at number 197 on their prestigious list of the 200 greatest singers of all time.

Furthermore, he secured his fourth Best International Act win at the BET Awards in 2023.

Burna Boy also clinched The Headies Afrobeats Single of the Year award and the Song of the Year title for “Last Last”.
