The Manklalo Cultural Group, a distinguished Ghanaian ensemble, recently delivered a vibrant performance at Ga Mantse Agbonaa in Accra as part of the Homowo Festival celebrations. The event, steeped in tradition, brought together communities to mark one of the most significant festivals of the Ga people, known for its colorful pageantry, music, and dance.
The group, comprising talented members such as Bright Lodo, Isaac Owusu, Leticia Adobea, Dorothy Kpornyo, Rita Addo, Eliasu Mustapha, Alphonse Doamekpor, Rena Assuah, Princess Owusu, Comfort Amoah, Peter Ayamga, Ebenezer Sarpong, Kingsley Osei, and Domonic Yamoah, captivated audiences with their dynamic showcase of Ghanaian folk culture.
During the performance, the Manklalo Cultural Group presented a repertoire rooted in traditional Ghanaian music and dance patterns. Some of the celebrated styles performed includED Kpalala and Kpashimor (Ga), Adowa (Akan), Agbadza (Ewe), Kpanlogo (Ga), Apatampa (Fante), Kete (Asante)

Instrumental to the group’s performance was their use of Ghanaian traditional instruments such as the Dawuro, Atumpan, Gome, and various drums, which provided a rich, authentic soundscape. The interplay of percussion, song, and dance not only entertained but also educated the audience about the depth and diversity of Ghana’s musical heritage.
