Mahama Questions $400M Spending on Agenda 111 Without Operational Hospitals

Pesident John Dramani Mahama has questioned the $400 million spent on the Agenda 111 hospital project under the previous administration, revealing that despite the massive expenditure, not a single facility has been fully completed and made operational.

Speaking during his maiden State of the Nation Address in his second term before Parliament on Tuesday, Mahama expressed disappointment over the stalled progress of the ambitious healthcare initiative.

“Approximately $400 million has already been spent on Agenda 111, yet not a single hospital is fully operational,” he disclosed.

Agenda 111 was launched as a bold initiative to bridge the gap in Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure by constructing 111 hospitals nationwide.

However, Mahama questioned the lack of completed facilities despite the substantial financial commitment.

“This project was meant to improve healthcare access across the country, but after spending such a significant amount, what do we have to show for it?” he asked.
